Travel Advisory: Temporary Flight Ban Will Be in Place at Beijing's Two Airports
Sep. 28, 2009
If you are scheduled to fly into or out of Beijing on the morning of October 1, 2009, please be aware!
The latest information released by China News Agency as well as additional details gathered by CARNOC.com suggest a temporary flight ban from 09:30am (October 1, 2009) until 12:30pm (October 1, 2009) will be in place for both Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) and the city's Nanyuan Airport.
It's understood by CARNOC.com that the 3-hour flight ban is largely due to the highly anticipated National Day parade taking place that morning in Beijing's central downtown area. Reportedly, all affected airlines have started to re-arrange their arriving/departing flights originally scheduled during the aforementioned timeframe and passengers booked on those flights are urged to contact the operating carriers in concern.
However, while there will be a temporary flight ban affecting Beijing's two airports servicing civilian flights on the morning of October 1, 2009, but airport terminals and most in-terminal facilities will remain open during the flight suspension period.
Through this travel advisory issued by CARNOC.com, airport authorities would also like to inform prospective airport users that while maximum efforts will be put to ensure the smooth running of all services, but some flight delays or other service difficulties may still occur, therefore customer patience and understanding will be highly appreciated.
