Air China to Increase Fuel Surcharge Applicable to Selected International and Regional Routes

According to a news report published by Beijing Daily on Nov. 13, Air China officially announced on Nov. 12 that the carrier will raise fuel surcharge applicable to a number of international and regional flights ticketed from Dec. 1, 2009.
The newspaper article says Air China will increase the fuel surcharge applicable to flights between Mainland China and Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines as well as Nepal from 200 yuan/sector to 300 yuan/sector.
As for regional flights from Mainland China to Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR and Taiwan, some upward adjustments will also take effect. For instance, Macau SAR-Mainland China flights will face a fuel surcharge upturn from US$8/sector to US$15/sector. Also, for flights from Beijing and Tianjin to Taiwan, fuel surcharge will be increased to 140 yuan/sector from 125 yuan/sector.
On the other hand, the carrier will not adjust fuel surcharge applicable to Mainland China-Europe routes for the time being, according to the Beijing Daily report.
