The City of Greater Geraldton has launched a draft proposal to expand the local airport.

The proposal is designed to keep pace with growing demand for flight services from the region's burgeoning resources industry.

The plan involves the future construction of a 2,600 metre runway to accommodate for larger planes.

Residents and business stakeholders are urged to submit feedback to the proposal during the public consultation period.
