Russia: Passenger Plane Makes Emergency Landing, No Casualties Reported

An Airbus A320 passenger plane made an emergency landing early Tuesday morning in a Russian airport in the Urals mountains region after smoke was detected on the plane, according to local media reports.
Citing authorities in Russia's regional investigation department, Itar-Tass news agency said no one was hurt in the incident.
The Lufthansa airline operated plane, en route from Russian city of Yekaterinburg to Germany's Frankfurt, was carrying 116 passengers and six crew members. During the flight, the crew saw smokes in the cockpit and then made the emergency landing at around 05:45 Moscow time (01:45GMT) at Bolshoye Savino airport in Russia's Perm region.
After the incident, passengers and the crew aboard the plane were evacuated and received medical examinations. The passengers will fly to Frankfurt by another plane.
An inquiry had been launched into the incident before an official investigation. A group of investigators has already worked at the site.
