Jiangxi Airlines to Make Inaugural Flight in July

Chinese start-up carrier Jiangxi Airlines is set to commence operations in July, subject to approval of the aviation watchdog, according to the local government in Jiangxi Province.
Jiangxi Airlines Investment Co., Ltd., which was founded in Feb. 2014, has introduced its executive team recently, to ensure the maiden flight of the first local carrier in Jiangxi in July, said the Department of Commerce of Jiangxi Province.
Jiangxi Airlines Investment Co., Ltd. is funded by Jiangxi Railway Investments Group, Jiangxi Provincial Investment Group, Jiangxi Provincial Financial Investment Group and Nanchang City Tourism Investment Holding Group. Jiangxi Airlines will be founded with an initial investment of 400 million yuan.
The launch of the airline will add more air links to Nanchang Changbei International Airport (KHN) and help boost the air travel market in Jiangxi.
According to statistic released by Jiangxi Airport Group Company, Nanchang airport reported a total passenger volume of 6.81 million in 2013, with an increase of 13.17 percent year on year.
Several start-up airlines have taken off or are set to take off since the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) lifted a six-year ban against launching new airlines last year. Qingdao Airlines (QW) is the latest airline taking off to the sky. The new entrant made its inaugural flight on April 26. Guilin Airlines is expected to take off next month, and Fuzhou Airlines will commence operations in October.
