A Xiamen Airlines (MF) Boeing 737-800 aircraft experienced multiple bird strikes before landing at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (WUH) on Wednesday morning, the airline said on its official Weibo page.
Flight MF8137 from Fuzhou to Tianjin with a stopover in Wuhan was landing, when bird strikes occurred, causing several damages in the radome, engine covers and windshields. Fortunately, the plane landed safely and no passengers or crew members on board were injured.
Xiamen Airlines confirmed the incident in the afternoon of Oct. 8, saying that the aircraft landed safely after the bird strikes and no injuries were reported. Subsequently, technical staff had inspected the aircraft for nearly four hours to make sure it could resume passenger flights.
According to the airline, the aircraft left Wuhan Airport for Fuzhou at 4:57 p.m.
