Jiangxi Airlines Set to Take Off on June 18

Jiangxi Airlines Co. Ltd, the first local carrier based in China's Jiangxi Province, is set to take its inaugural flight on June 18, disclosed recently by Wu Xiangyang, general manager of the start-up airline.
Since Nov. 12, Jiangxi Airlines began publicly soliciting designs of its logo and aircraft livery, a total of 1,526 scripts were made with 10 in final selection. Currently, the logo design of Jiangxi Airlines is basically nailed down, marking that the airline is officially on counting-down.
On Aug. 13, Xiamen Airlines (MF) and Jiangxi Province signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on investing and establishing the first local carrier in Nanchang together with Jiangxi Airlines Investment Co., Ltd.
According to the agreement, the start-up carrier Jiangxi Airlines Co., Ltd. was set up with a registered capital of 2 billion yuan, of which 60% was invested by Xiamen Airlines in aircraft and fixed assets, while the rest 40% was contributed by Jiangxi Airlines Investment in cash.
Based at Nanchang Changbei International Airport (KHN), the new entity will fly Boeing 737 aircraft to most major cities across the country, initially opening domestic flights between Nanchang and Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chengdu.
According to the plan, Jiangxi Airlines is expected to commence official operations on June 18, with a fleet of 5 aircraft. Its fleet size will be expanded to 8 aircraft in 2016 and 30 by 2020.
