With KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL) set to debut its Boeing 787-9 on daily Amsterdam-Abu Dhabi-Bahrain route starting October 25 this year, the airline has unveiled the first look at the seating configuration of its stretched Dreamliner recently.
According to a seat map revealed on the airline website, KLM's 787-9 will be configured with 294 seats in a three-class layout - 30 lie-flat seats in World Business class in rows of 1-8, 48 seats in Economy Comfort zone, arranged 3-3-3 from rows 10 through 16, and 216 Economy seats also stacked 3-3-3 from rows 17 through 44.
The World Business class employs a 1-2-1 configuration, with a seat pitch of 42 inches. Seeing from the seat map, the middle of the plane is assigned to the Economy Comfort zone of 48 seats with a 35-inch pitch. The rest of the plane is configured with 216 standard economy seats, again in that 3-3-3 layout and with the same 17.3 inch width - but with a tighter 31-inch seat pitch.
The Dutch carrier is planning to take delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in October. According to an earlier report by airlineroute.net, the Dutch carrier will operate its first 787-9 aircraft to Bahrain, Cairo and Xiamen later this year. Reservation for planned 787-9 services is available now.
