China Eastern Applies to Launch Shanghai-Chicago Service in Oct.

China Eastern Airlines (MU) has filed an application to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for launching a daily round-trip service from Shanghai Pudong to Chicago, the U.S. in October 2015, according to a notice released on the aviation watchdog's website on Tuesday.
Pending government approval, the Shanghai-based carrier will operate Boeing 777 aircraft on the Shanghai Pudong-Chicago route starting this October, with seven flights weekly.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until July 22, 2015.
