Hainan Airlines (HU), China's fourth largest carrier, has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to launch two new international services to Calgary and Brussels in 2016.
Starting June 2016, the Haikou-based carrier will fly its Airbus A330 or Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Beijing to Calgary, the fourth largest city in Canada, according to an announcement released Thursday on the website of the CAAC.
Meanwhile, Hainan Airlines also plans to launch a nonstop round-trip passenger service linking Shanghai Pudong and Brussels, capital of Belgium, using its A330 or 787 Dreamliner.
Subjected to government approval, the new Beijing-Calgary and Shanghai Pudong-Brussels routes will be operated four times weekly, respectively.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until November 20, 2015.
