A China Southern Airlines Airbus A320-200 aircraft performing flight CZ3483 from Guangzhou to Chengdu was suffered severally damages to windshields and nose when the aircraft encountered intense hailstorm on approach to Chengdu on July 9.
The hail broke the cockpit window; however, the pilot managed a safe landing on Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport's runway 02R at 7:51 p.m.
Photos of the aircraft's smashed windshield and damaged nose were posted to social media by the passengers.
The aircraft, Registration B-9931, also suffered damage to the radome - the nose cone area that houses weather radar and navigational equipment.
