Travel Advisory: Cathay Pacific Announces Special Ticketing Arrangement Due to Earthquake in Sichuan

As a result to the earthquake in China's Sichuan Province, with immediate effect, all rebooking / re-routing charge will be waived for all tickets issued worldwide (of all fare types) on or before May 12, 2008, for travel involving Chengdu (CTU) and Chongqing (CKG) between May 12-May 19, 2008.
Details as follows:
For Cathay Pacific / Dragonair Tickets
- Cancellation / Refund: No waiver on Cancellation and Refund Charges.
- Rerouting / Rebooking: Rerouting/Rebooking charges will be waived on conditions that (1) Such requests are made on/before May 19, 2008, and before departure, for travel involving CTU/CKG between May 12-May 19, 2008. Passengers who do not show up are not eligible for the waiver; (2) Revised (new) travel date must be on/before July 15, 2008, and subject to flight availability. In which case, the ticket expiry date will be adjusted accordingly; (3) The newly rerouted/rebooked sector must observe and conform to the conditions of the respective fare rule, such as black out dates, flight application, weekend/weekday travel, stopover charges, and applicable seasonalities by collecting additional/refunding difference (if any) as appropriate; (4) Re-issuance charges will only be waived in reference to the expiry date of the original ticket.
- Group Tickets: Please refer to local sales office.
For Frequent Flyer Programme Tickets
- Cancellation / Refund - Not permitted.
- Rebooking - Permitted without payment of any rebooking fee.
- Rerouting - The ticket re-issuance fee (US$30 or 3000 Asia Miles) will be waived for rerouting request and provided the date of confirmed booking falls between May 12 - May 19, 2008.
