China Airlines, Mandarin Airlines Prepare to Launch Dragon Boat Festival Charter Flights to Mainland

China Airlines and its subsidiary Mandarin Airlines will launch Dragon Boat Festival charter flights directly to Shanghai, from June 3 to June 15, 2008. A total of four round-trip charter flights from Taipei to Shanghai have been arranged, and Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330 aircraft will be used for the charters, which will provide two-class service.
The charter flights are now open for customers who wish to make reservations. Passengers from Taiwan region can reserve their flights by calling the China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines Call Center directly or by using the China Airlines' web site at www.china-airlines.com; a 5% discount on ticket fares is available for passengers using online-ATM payment on the airline's website. Passengers may also make their reservations through designated travel agencies.
With the required mileage, or an additional payment, Dynasty Flyer members can upgrade their seats or redeem a free ticket on the charter flights, and Dynasty Flyer members can also accumulate mileage on the charter flights. However, the Dynasty Flyer member upgrades and redemptions will not be open for on-line service.
Passengers on China Airlines and Mandarin Airlines can use their tickets interchangeably on both airlines, and can combine scheduled flights with the charter flights. Passengers with scheduled flight tickets can switch those tickets to charter flights without an administration charge, and need only pay the price difference if needed. Passengers can also join China Airlines' Dynasty Packages to Shanghai.
