Dragonair Moves to Full Electronic Ticketing From June

On May 29, Dragonair announced that, effective June 1, 2008, it will become a 100% e-ticket airline. From that date, travel agents will only issue electronic tickets for passengers taking Dragonair flights.
The switch to full e-ticketing at Dragonair is in accordance with a mandate issued by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to introduce e-ticketing worldwide. Electronic ticketing has many benefits including increased passenger convenience and a reduced impact on the environment by eliminating the need for paper tickets.
Electronic ticketing also allows greater flexibility for passengers and travel agents to make changes to travel itineraries. At the same time passengers are relieved of worries about losing tickets and are free to enjoy more time-saving options such as self-service kiosks at the airport.

The convenience and flexibility provided by e-ticketing, combined with cost savings and environmental benefits, leads to a win-win situation for passengers and those in the travel industry," said Chief Executive Officer Kenny Tang.
From June 1, travel agents worldwide (except in the United States) will no longer issue paper tickets for travel. Passengers are reminded to bring along the electronic ticket itinerary receipt supplied by the issuing travel agents. The receipt, including the ticket number and flight details, serves as a reference for the trip.
Paper tickets issued before June 1, 2008, will remain valid for travel on or beyond that date. Passengers can contact issuing travel agents or the Dragonair office for more details.
