The weekend cross-strait charter flights will start operation next week. The first flight, run by Air China, will depart at 8:30 from Beijing on July 4, and is expected to arrive in Taipei at 13:00.
Air China has arranged five special aircraft to operate the weekend charter flights. It has also selected experienced air crew and cabin attendants able to speak Min Nan dialect.
The food it provides will not only follow clean and safe standards, but also considering Taiwan passengers' taste. Taiwan- and Beijing-styled cuisine will be served.
Zhang Chunzhi, Marketing Manager of Air China, "The meal we provide will not only represent Chinese tradition cuisine, but also the cuisine favored by Taiwan passengers, such as Min Nan dishes and southern style food."
The airline's charter flights will link Taiwan to Beijing and Shanghai as well as many other cities in the mainland.
Additionally, by connecting mainland airports to the global air network, Taiwan passengers can more easily fly to locations around the world.
Zhang Chunzhi said, "Among the mainland's air transport industry, Air China boasts one of the largest networks, especially after it joined the Star Alliance, its network is linked to locations around the world. Taiwan passengers can travel to Europe or America by passing through Beijing and Shanghai."
The tickets for Air China's first cross-strait weekend charter flight have already been sold out.
