China United to Introduce China's 1st Piece-Based Domestic Baggage Policy
Jul. 06, 2020
Beginning July 3rd, China United Airlines (CUA) has implemented a brand-new baggage policy, which claims to be a first in China. The new policy uses a piece-based measurement instead of weight-based for checked baggage across its domestic network while the standard weight limit of single checked baggage has also been relaxed from 20kg to 23kg.
In addition, the size limit of carry-on luggage aboard CUA domestic flights has also been greatly enlarged from 20x30x40cm to 20x40x55cm.
CUA representative told ChinaAviationDaily.com that the introduction of new baggage policy is to help the carrier tremendously in benchmarking international baggage practice, enhancing transit efficiency as well as further facilitating passengers to enjoy a smooth air travel experience.
As a state-owned low cost carrier, CUA has a large presence at the "New National Gateway" - Beijing Daxing International Airport, and it offers more dynamic airfares with greater flexibility as well as various additional services such as optional luggage and meals, which have been greatly appreciated by customers.
