Jul. 29, 2008
About 16 flights between Hong Kong and Taiwan were canceled and 13 delayed because of Typhoon Fung-wong.
Canceled were two Mandarin Airlines and two Uni Air Hong Kong-Taichung flights; two Dragonair, two China Airlines and two Mandarin Airlines Hong Kong-Kaohsiung flights; two Dragonair and two Cathay Pacific Hong Kong-Taipei flights; and two Dragonair Hong Kong-Fuzhou flights.
Two Dragonair flights and one Uni Air flight from Hong Kong to Taichung were delayed, as were four Dragonair flights from Hong Kong to Kaohsiung.
For new flight arrangements, Cathay Pacific said most of the affected passengers have transferred to other Taiwan carriers.
The Airport Authority Hong Kong has no concrete number of affected passengers.
