On August 2, a Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 landed smoothly at Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) in the afternoon, which marks the successful completion of the airline's first A380 commercial service bound for China.
Singapore Airlines officials told CARNOC.com that its flight SQ802 left Singapore at 8:40 this morning and touched down in Beijing at 14:50 while 385 passengers and 25 crew members were aboard the A380 superjumbo. The aircraft will later be used for return flight SQ805.
It's understood by CARNOC.com that Singapore Airlines is now deploying an Airbus A380 on its Singapore-Beijing route between August 2 and August 8 as a temporary measure to cater for the increasing demand due to this month's Olympic Games in Beijing.
However, CARNOC.com has also been informed that the operating aircraft for flights SQ802/805 will be reverted back to Boeing 777 after August 8.
