Air China Chongqing Branch Resumes Chongqing-Jiuzhaigou Service
Jul. 09, 2008
Air China Chongqing Branch has recently decided to resume its Chongqing-Jiuzhaigou service despite the fact that it knows well in advance the service resumption will see few passengers and tiny profits if any at all due to the devastating earthquake in Sichuan earlier this year.
However, Air China officials have told CARNOC.com that this initiative is largely aimed at assisting Sichuan's tourism industry to rejuvenate as well as contributing to the reconstruction efforts in the disaster areas.
Therefore, the airline has adjusted its aircraft deployment and will resume Chongqing-Jiuzhaigou route on July 20. It's understood by CARNOC.com that the resumed flight will take-off from Chongqing at 10:30 while the return flight set to take-off from Jiuzhaigou at 12:20, the frequency supposedly to be daily.
CARNOC.com has been told by Air China Chongqing Branch that the new schedule is suitable for travel agencies to arrange tour itineraries, which will positively assist the revival of Sichuan's tourism industry. In order to help travel agencies attracting more tourists visiting Jiuzhaigou from Chongqing, the airline also provides group fares with up to 60% discounts.
