Video: Hong Kong, Shenzhen Airports Further Cooperation
Sep. 05, 2008
Things will soon get a lot easier for passengers flying out of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Their airports have launched a project to allow them to focus on international and domestic flights respectively.
For example, passengers with tickets to depart from Hong Kong to other countries or regions can check-in at the Shenzhen airport, and then take special buses to Hong Kong's airport for their overseas flight.
And for passengers with tickets to Chinese mainland cities, they can check-in at Hong Kong's airport, and take buses to Shenzhen's airport for their domestic flight.
Insiders say the cooperation will allow Hong Kong's airport to focus on international flights, while allowing Shenzhen's airport to focus on domestic flights.
The project began test operations at the end of August, and it will officially launch this month.
