Qantas Drops Fuel Surcharge for Hong Kong Sectors
Oct. 01, 2008
Qantas has just announced that it will be lowering fuel surcharges on sectors into and out of Hong Kong that are sold from Australia only.
After holding firm after individual monitoring bodies pressured the airline to lower fuel surcharges, Qantas has finally conceded, slightly lowering YQ surcharges to and from Hong Kong.
Effective immediately, tickets issued in Australia will drop its fuel surcharge from US$118.50 to US$106.70.
On Sep. 29, fuel once again dipped below US$100 a barrel as traders bet that the global demand for oil would slow.
