Air China's New Through Check-in Service Makes Travel Even More Convenient

Air China has recently announced that passengers who change flights during their trip will now be able to complete all their check-in processes at their point of origin rather than checking in again when transferring planes. In addition, passengers' baggage will be sent directly to their final destination. This new process will cut down the amount of time passengers spend transferring by as much as two-thirds, to less than one hour.
By the end of 2008, this new service was already fully operational at more than 70 airports, including 40 domestically and 30 internationally. Recently, Air China and Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) officially signed this agreement making Air China the first domestic airline to provide this service.
Zhang Chunzhi, Air China's General Manager of Marketing Department, recently expressed her enthusiasm for the new time-saving service feature, noting that "As China's flagship airline, Air China consistently provides reliable, effective and efficient service to our customers at home and abroad. This new through check-in process will allow us to provide an even higher level of service to our passengers. It is our large domestic and international network as well as advanced technology which allows us to save time for travelers and maintain our competitive edge in the airline industry."
This new service, available to those who buy through tickets, is applicable to both domestic and international flights and is possible as a result of the cooperation between the Ground Services team, the Luggage Services and the Information Center.
In order for this service to run as efficiently as possible, Air China has set up information counters at participating airports with knowledgeable staff on hand to answer any questions passengers may have when in transit. At these booths, Air China staff will be able to check for possible flight information and monitor your baggage by computer.
