Snow Grounds Hong Kong-London Flights
Feb. 04, 2009
Record snowfall in Britain on Feb. 2 caused the cancelation of two Hong Kong-to-London flights on Feb. 3 and the delay of six others, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said.
British Airways, which canceled two flights to London, said it would continue to operate a reduced program.
"We have been trying to run as many flights out as possible, especially long haul, but the problem here is a large amount of snow, and it is taking a long time to clear snow from the runways and ramps," a spokesman said from London.
According to the airline's website, passengers affected by the delays or cancelation can either ask for a refund, or rebook for later travel at no extra charge.
